King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Welcomes Delegation from University of Brunei Darussalam for Benchmarking Visit on Research and Innovation Commercialization

The Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), co-hosted and welcomed a senior executive delegation from the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on the occasion of a Benchmarking Visit on Research and Innovation Commercialization on Friday, 30 January 2026, at Meeting Room AD907, 9th Floor, President Office Building, KMUTT Bangmod Campus.

The program began with an introduction to KMUTT and a welcome address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawin Chandrasenawong, Vice President for Internationalization, followed by an organizational overview presentation from the University of Brunei Darussalam. The delegation then attended a presentation on KMUTT’s research commercialization framework, delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tassaneewan Laksanashopin, Assistant to the President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Subsequently, the delegation received an overview of KX – Knowledge Exchange, presented by Dr. Pattrat Kamonkitti, Chief Executive Officer. Additional presentations introduced the roles and missions of the Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI) and the Innovation Valuation Advisory Center (IVAC), delivered by Dr. Alisa Kongton, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, and Dr. Kritsada Jutimongkul, Head of IVAC. These units play key roles in supporting technology transfer, innovation valuation, and the integration of management expertise with practical commercialization processes.

The delegation from the University of Brunei Darussalam, led by Dr. Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor, together with executives responsible for industry engagement, finance, and asset management, engaged in constructive discussions with KMUTT and GMI administrators and faculty members. The discussions focused on policy development, business models, and innovation-driving mechanisms through holding companies and university spin-offs to ensure sustainable research utilization.

This visit represents another significant milestone in strengthening strategic collaboration between KMUTT—particularly GMI—and the University of Brunei Darussalam. It also lays an important foundation for future regional cooperation in innovation development, research commercialization, and the advancement of entrepreneurial ecosystems.
