Field Study Project for Course LGM615: Lean and Six Sigma Logistics at Phutthasothon Hospital, Chachoengsao Province

The Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program, Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), organized a field study project for the course LGM615 Lean and Six Sigma Logistics at Phutthasothon Hospital, Chachoengsao Province, on Friday, October 3, 2025. The activity was participated by a total of 21 attendees, including faculty members, staff, and first-year master’s degree students.

The objective of this field study was to enable students to learn about the logistics processes within the hospital’s pharmacy and drug storage facilities. Phutthasothon Hospital serves as the main hospital of Chachoengsao Province and is classified as a regional hospital under the Ministry of Public Health. During the visit, students studied the logistics processes in a systematic manner, analyzed problems and obstacles within the system, and proposed improvement and development approaches to enhance the efficiency of pharmaceutical logistics management.

This project provided students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from the Lean and Six Sigma Logistics course in real-world settings—particularly in analyzing waste in logistics processes, identifying root causes, and determining practical management solutions. The experience also helped strengthen students’ practical skills and systemic management perspectives for their future careers.
