Digital Business Management Program, Graduate School of Management and Innovation, KMUTT, Organizes Study Visit to Thongpanom Fermentation House to Enhance Knowledge on Digital Technology and AI Applications in the Beverage Industry

The Digital Business Management Program, Graduate School of Management and Innovation, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (GMI), organized a study visit for the courses DBM 602: Artificial Intelligence Applications in Digital Business and DBM 570: Digital Foundation at Thongpanom Fermentation House, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, on Tuesday, 18 November 2025. The activity was attended by faculty members, staff, and first- and second-year master’s degree students, totaling 23 participants.

The purpose of this study visit was to enable students to learn about the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in real business contexts, particularly in the food and beverage industry—one of Thailand’s high-potential sectors. At Thongpanom Fermentation House, a Thai enterprise that integrates digital technology and automation in the production process of Sato, a traditional Thai fermented beverage, students explored how the company elevates its products to a premium level through a Smart Brewery system. This includes the integration of Internet of Things (IoT), sensor systems, data analytics, and AI to control fermentation quality, analyze flavor profiles, and maintain consistent production standards.

This study visit provided students with a real-world understanding of the transition toward Smart Manufacturing and AI-enabled Food Production, directly connecting with the content of both courses. Additionally, the experience served as an inspiration to support Thai entrepreneurs who utilize local ingredients to enhance production standards and strengthen competitiveness in global markets through the effective application of digital technology and AI.
