The Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized the Bangkok Sustainability Program 2026 from 23 August to 5 September 2026 under the concept “Thailand as a Living Lab.”

Led by Assistant Professor Dr. Worapoj Angkasith, the program welcomed students from The University of Tokyo and Iwate University, Japan, who joined KMUTT students for an immersive learning and cross-cultural exchange experience focused on sustainability.

Throughout the two-week program, students explored key topics including Sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Carbon Neutrality, and Sustainable Business through field visits to businesses, communities, and real-world learning sites. The program also featured hands-on activities, Thai–Japanese cultural exchanges, and collaborative teamwork, allowing students to connect academic knowledge with real-world economic, social, and environmental challenges.

Toward the end of the program, students applied the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the program to analyze challenges, develop innovative ideas, and present their solutions through a Final Presentation. The presentations demonstrated the students’ development in critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adaptability in multicultural environments.

The Bangkok Sustainability Program 2026 not only enhanced students’ knowledge and understanding of sustainability but also broadened their international perspectives and fostered meaningful connections between Thai and Japanese students. The program also provides a strong foundation for further academic collaboration and joint initiatives in sustainable development among the participating universities in the future.
