On August 18, 2025, the Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taweesak Kritcharoen, Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mongkol Asavadilokrit, Associate Dean for Administration, Mrs. Thananchanok Phumpuang, Acting Secretary, and staff, participated in the wreath-laying ceremony in tribute to His Majesty King Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramenthra Ramathibodi Sri Sinthara Maha Mongkut Phra Chom Klao Chao Yu Hua, King Rama IV, the Great, on the occasion of National Science Day, at the King Rama IV Monument in front of the University.
The ceremony was held to honor and commemorate His Majesty’s benevolence as the “Father of Science in Thailand,” who precisely calculated the total solar eclipse on August 18, 1868. This event was recognized as a significant milestone in the history of science, both in Thailand and internationally. The ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of the University, and attended by administrators, faculty, staff, students, as well as representatives from government agencies and the private sector in the area.
