KMUTT University Council Approves GMI Name Change and Expansion into Undergraduate and Doctoral Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

King Mongkut\u2019s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)<\/strong> held the 325th Mobile Meeting of the KMUTT University Council<\/strong> on 2 September 2026<\/strong> at the GMI Building.<\/p>\n

Prior to the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Taweesak Kritcharoen<\/strong>, Dean of GMI, led the University Council members on a visit to an exhibition showcasing 12 outstanding academic and innovation achievements<\/strong> of GMI across four key areas:<\/p>\n

\n\ud83d\udc49 Teaching and Learning Development<\/strong>
\n\ud83d\udc49 Research<\/strong>
\n\ud83d\udc49 Academic and Social Services<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the University Council reviewed GMI\u2019s overall operations and approved several significant agendas marking an important step toward the institution\u2019s future development:<\/p>\n

1. Approval of GMI\u2019s New Name<\/strong>
\nThe Council approved the change of the institution\u2019s name from \u201cGraduate School of Management and Innovation\u201d<\/strong> to \u201cGMI School of Management and Innovation.\u201d<\/strong> The new name reflects GMI\u2019s expanded mission to provide education across multiple levels and supports its Future Ready<\/strong> direction.<\/p>\n

2. Approval of a New Undergraduate Program<\/strong>
\nThe Council approved the establishment of a new undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Business Management<\/strong>, which has been incorporated into KMUTT\u2019s 13th Strategic Plan<\/strong>. The program is scheduled to welcome its first cohort of students in Semester 1 of Academic Year 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Approval of a New Doctoral Program<\/strong>
\nThe Council also approved the establishment of a new doctoral program, the Doctor of Business Administration Program in Management<\/strong>, which will commence from Semester 2 of Academic Year 2026<\/strong> onward.<\/p>\n

These approvals mark an important milestone in GMI\u2019s transformation and reflect its commitment to expanding educational opportunities across Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, and Doctoral levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
