\ud83c\udf31 GMI Joins \u201cPMUC Zero Burn to Earn\u201d Initiative to Drive Sustainable Agricultural Transformation<\/p>\n
On 27 April 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taweesak Kritcharoen<\/b><\/span>, Dean of the Graduate School of Management and Innovation, King Mongkut\u2019s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), participated in the press conference for the \u201cPMUC Zero Burn to Earn\u201d<\/b><\/span> initiative \u2014 a collaborative project among government agencies, research institutions, private sectors, and farmer networks aimed at tackling PM2.5 pollution while strengthening Thailand\u2019s agricultural economy in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taweesak shared perspectives with Prof. Dr. Yossanan Wongsawat<\/b><\/span>, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, regarding the role of the Logistics Innovation Center<\/b><\/span> under GMI in supporting the project.<\/p>\n The Center contributes through the development of a \u201cLogistics Ecosystem Model\u201d<\/b><\/span> that connects the entire value chain \u2014 from farmers and agricultural waste collection to transportation and industrial utilization \u2014 helping improve resource management efficiency while reducing agricultural burning.<\/p>\n In addition, the Center supports the design of optimization solutions<\/b><\/span> to evaluate costs, economic feasibility, PM2.5 reduction potential, and scalable implementation strategies, while also developing economic incentive mechanisms that encourage farmers to shift from \u201cburning waste\u201d to \u201ccreating value\u201d from agricultural residues.<\/p>\n Assoc.
